Ecuador
We’ve grown from providing HOPE to one student to now serving almost 350 students at 10 different partner sites in Quito and the surrounding areas. Most of our student’s families live beneath the poverty line because they make less than minimum wage which is roughly $87 per week and come from communities that struggle with alcoholism, drug abuse, gang activity, and teenage pregnancy. Help us give hope of a better future with an education.
Haiti – Les Cayes/Cavaillon
Our Partner Sites in Les Cayes and Cavaillon, Haiti provides financial sponsorship for the remainder of tuition and fees that a student’s family cannot afford to pay. This amount varies based on the grade level, the type of school and the individual family’s financial situation. Our onsite staff meets with guardians and parents at the beginning of each school year to assess their level of need for assistance.
Haiti - Gros Morne
With 80% of Haitians living in extreme poverty, paying for anything outside basic survival needs is almost impossible. That’s why only 76% of primary and 20% of secondary school-aged children are enrolled. Less than 20% of primary schools are public, or funded by the government. Our Partner Site provides financial support for operating costs with our partner schools and sponsorships for tuition assistance.
Haiti - St. Jean Baptiste
St. Jean Baptiste school is located in Savanette, a village in rural southwest Haiti. An eight-classroom building was completed in 1990, giving children in the area their first opportunity to attend school. Our partnership centers on providing a quality education in a safe and loving setting for 9 classes: Primary 1 – 6 and Preschool for ages 3, 4 and 5.
Rwanda
Children with visual impairment and other disabilities in developing countries like Rwanda face enormous challenges. At best, they are sent to a government school with sighted children in classes of up to 100 students. At worst, they are neglected and sent out to beg, seen as a burden to the family instead of as uniquely talented individuals that can thrive and have productive and meaningful lives.
